I struggled to get through this book and hated the entire dynamic. The first half was incredibly slow, weighed down by repetitive, exhaustive negative self-talk about why a billionaire couldn’t love a plus-size single mom whose ex cheated on her. I get her self-esteem was shattered, but the constant whining was too much. The heroine's sudden shift from crippling insecurity to "yeah, grand, no worries" felt completely disingenuous.

Look, I love a red flag in a romance book as much as the next person—it's fiction and meant to be an escape. But this wasn't just toxic; it was completely ridiculous and unhinged. She spends the entire book going on and on about how her kids are the most important thing and how she has to protect them, only to suddenly agree to media releases? What actual parent does that?

Worse, demanding someone heal a 10-year family rift as a stipulation for your relationship, without even knowing the full story, makes zero sense. Refusing to be with someone just because they had a row with their parents a decade ago is beyond absurd. Cop onto yourself. The whole thing was absolutely ridiculous and has officially put me off the rest of the series.
