When I started reading and realized the main 2 characters were kids, I didn't have high expectations but it was actually pretty good and well-written, better than my expectations for sure! But warning the end is a bit sad/bittersweet. It includes creatures and stories from the most well-known mythologies and some not so well-known ones as well, but with a unique twist. Now, I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel!

Unengaging, lacked depth to the plot, seemed like a big jump in the world-building from the first series The Seven Realms to this series with the addition of dragons. But I love dragons so once my brain could adjust to that from what it was used to from the last series, it was great. Was pretty sad and disappointed that the author killed off Han in the first chapter, would've loved to have seen more of that character. Some sexual content that was more descriptive/open-door at one point than I prefer. I think overall it's similar to the first series in that there's not a lot of meat to the story or engaging action and character relationships until the 2nd or 3rd books.
