only the first chapter was worth reading but at least i found its contents insightful! albeit scarce in this book...

decently insightful for someone like me who has zero knowledge in this area!

3.5 stars

so dearly endearing... that epilogue was a heartache!

3.5 stars!

thoroughly enjoyed the magic system of forging. got emotional, got moved at some points as well. felt like a read that i need to give some time post-finishing it for me to wholly appreciate it!

you could tell this is sanderson's first work, but nonetheless, was a decent read! found the magic system and religious themes quite uninteresting until the end, what a sanderlanche!

cute story, with an even cuter origin! cements my fondness for ashe!

3.5 stars

had my jaw dropped for the most part. would've been 4 stars if not for that wretched ending...

sometimes charming, mostly boring... surprised i didn't DNF...

a book that i was supposed to love... concept and magic system had me hooked but wasn't enough to compensate for my utter lack of investment in the characters, the stakes, and the world-building :/

2.5 stars

just like pines, slightly disappointing... confirms my theory that the series could've been condensed into a singular book but nonetheless, didn't necessarily dislike the story, just didn't have the same thrill the first had

had no idea i could enjoy a grim, central military story this much... had equally no idea i'd enjoy the character relationships and the world-building this much...

a lot slower than the first. slightly underwhelming but only because the first was so. good. got better towards the end.

for such a bleak story, i had a great time reading it! good beginning and even better middle part. can't wait to see what happens in the next books.

was alright! though ofc, i do miss my favorite mistborn character...

2.5 stars. began promisingly but eventually lost me. complex and ambitious, perhaps to a fault and a really poorly executed romance between the main 2 characters. what kept me going was the action.

holy... that sanderlanche of an ending rendered me beyond speechless...

holy... this messed me up in the best, most horrifying way possible. raised my heartbeat. had to stop reading so many times just to take a breather. itching to read the sequel.

2.5 stars. majority of it had pacing issues, with the book getting interesting only in the last third. didn't help either that all the characters had zero personality. but surprisingly, i still would like to pick up an emily st. john mandel in the future because of this novel's scientific intrigue!

an awesome revisit to my favorite characters. doesn't quite reach the mark as final empire did imo but still had several great moments! itching to continue with the third.

i just got bored... promising beginning but the yawning began when the most uninteresting villain i've ever encountered appeared on the page...

probably a mistake to read this after the awesomeness that was the final empire... a decently pleasant read that simply wasn't for me or for my taste!

haven't felt true emptiness and enthrallment until i read this book... save for chapter 34's ending, a perfectly fulfilling read.

for a sci-fi thriller, it sure did make me cry! off to tell everyone in my life that i love them!
