The Twisted Dead

I was unsure how this book was going to top the last one. What I wasn't expecting was this book to completely blow my mind and blow the other book out of the water. I started reading this pen right after I finished the other and have been enthralled since I laid my eyes on the first word.

Keira is someone with many facets, not only because she is intriguing and has so much to offer. But also because she doesn't know everything about herself due to amnesia. Each new scenario brings new memories about herself and how she once was coinciding with these other people who were quite literally out to get her. She is not only a tough cookie 🍪 but my good ess does she have the endurance to outlast anyone.

I was taken aback multiple times in this book with choices made and how Zoe and Mason were taken along for the ride. They were by her side for the whole entirety. I was enthralled that they would stick with her through so much. I was so happy 😊 to see that they refused to leave her side even through the hardest of times.

Dane is definitely a different guy that has been through some difficult times. Keira refuses to not find a way to help and I love that about her. She doesn't care who you are but she is so willing to help those she isn't even close with. It takes a special kind of person to be able to be that way with anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and absolutely cannot wait to get right into the next installment.

The Ravenous Dead

After the first book I was hoping this one was faster paced, and boy was it!!! Unlike the first book that was a slow to medium paced book this was a medium paced book that was full of action when I was least expecting it!

I was pleasantly surprised when we got so much action in what seemed like the short amount of time but was actually the first 40% of the book.  It was like I blinked and I was almost halfway through! That is when I know that I am loving a book. Not to mention when I can read a book and it plays like a movie in my head.

The story within this book definitely didnt go as I thought it would. It took me for a ride that I had no clue as to what was going to happen next or where we were going from there.

This was definitely much better than the first book and I loved being able to see much more about Keira in this book and I am very excited to see more about her, Zoe and Mason in the following books!

The Whispering Dead

The Whispering Dead turned out to be something that I wasn't expecting in a much better way than I can articulate at the moment. I just finished the book, and I was struggling with wanting to finish it last night at the 50% mark. It was a bit of a slow burn and I was needing something to happen to hook me in to keep me intrigued long enough to keep me reading.

But I wanted to know how Keira faired through everything and what happened enough that I kept reading. And I'm SO glad that I did.

I really enjoyed Keira's perspective of not knowing who she is other than her knee jerk reactions and answers that she could give. I hated that she didn't know who she was or much else, but I think in time she will get to know who she is now.

I was very surprised by who she is and what she could see in her second sight. I was excited to learn what she could see in her second sight and how she communicated with those she could. I hope that on future books that she is able to communicate better with them.

Keira is definitely a tough cookie! She is not a damsel in distress, she is a fight till she can't anymore. And I am so excited to learn more about her and see where she has learned to be such a strong fighter.

Of course we can't forget Zoe and Mason! I love Zoe's enthusiasm and love for her theories that she has for everything! I love that is so willing to look outside the box about everything. She isn't afraid to say what she thinks, even though she isn't a mushy hugger type.

Mason is the mysterious doctor who definitely has so much on his mind and I think that we will get to know so much more about him in future books. And I can't wait to see more of his personality unfold and see if there may be some romance unfold as well!

There is nothing like going to a fair and enjoying the food and festivities! But there is always a something going on in Keyhole Lake, and we finally got to see what happens when you mess with the best!!

This installment definitely gave you the most out of all the books so far by far!! We not only got a murder mystery but also a whole lot more!

This murder was harder to solve but definitely gave you a bang for your buck! It was a taste of the rich a famous in Keyhole. I enjoyed how they were involved but not so much how they did a few other things.

But they didn't even come close to the grand finale of the book! I definitely have it so patiently been waiting for this and it didn't disappoint!

I can't wait for the next book and to see what else happens in Keyhole Lake!!!

Another win for the Witches Of Keyhole Lake Series!  I know I say this every time but this series always makes me smile.

I love that this series always makes me feel at home and like it envelopes me in a big hug!

This one was a bit different! I enjoyed the mystery nonetheless, but I always enjoy the backstory of the magic the most. I love seeing how the magic of the family is always evolving. Not only is it evolving but always how it is changing the women and their partners and friends along with them.

I wish we could have seen a little bit more with Coralee in the book from the middle on considering she was the one that was on the hook. We didn't see much from her, and I think it would have enriched the story that much more. We see so much from her in all the other stories considering her salon is the gossip hub of Keyhole Lake.

I'm really hoping that we get to see more of Noelle and Hunters relationship evolve as well. Hopefully there is a wedding in sight soon!!

I can never not love this series. It's like going back home after being gone for a spell.

Having the southern charm that I love so much always makes me smile along with the funny sweet characters always makes reading this series so much fun.

I love these characters and this town so much and I dread the day when I come to the end of the series.

I truly enjoyed this book and got some laughs along the way as I usually do, but definitely from a usually cantankerous woman turned ghost. She wasn't going to just idly sit by and let someone else take over what was once hers. I loved that she was willing to change. Even if she saw the error of her ways a little too late.

I loved that Noelle was able to help not only one but two people in the community come to terms of what happened. And a long the way, get more girls to join her girlfriend group.

There is a storm a brewing in the area and I know it's going to be big. Now to see where it goes from here!

Rules for Ghosting

I picked up this book not realizing how much this would touch me heart and soul. I took longer to read this book than I have others because it truly touched me in more ways than I can put into words.

Ezra is a character like no other that I have read before. Not because he is trans, Jewish, or because he is a Doula. He is like no other because I resonated with so many feelings that he had throughout this book. Whether it be about his body and how he felt about it or how he felt as if he had to save everyone else before himself.

He learns so much about himself through this book, and in turn I was able to reflect on myself and see where I could change as well. I felt so deeply for Ezra as he went through every bit of this book and I couldn't help but want the best for him.

I haven't read any books about trans people or Jewish trans people for that matter so I depended heavily on Google to answer my questions when they arose. I wish there would have been a glossary of terms in the book for those of us who aren't familiar.

I loved the community that Ezra had built for himself within his friends. They couldn't have been better for him in his time of need. I loved their energy and vibes they gave off. I especially loved his family even though at times it could be touch and go for them. It is always hard, when you don't believe in yourself. But it is always better when the people you surround yourself believes in you and holds you up.

Ezra and Jonathan were such a great couple. I loved their love. It was complicated, but the best love can be. Even though we don't mean it to be. Jonathan was such a patient person when he didn't have show an ounce.
I loved that Ezra has this extra super power to see ghosts even if they can't always communicate back with him. Even without them being able to speak he is able to see them for who they are now.

Writing this book really made me realize how reluctant we are not just to talk about grief, and the way we're irrevocably changed by it, but that so many of us are reluctant to let ourselves feel it at all. But I quickly learned that grief has a way of creeping up on you, especially if you're trying to push it away. If there's anything I'd like my readers to take away, it's that, whatever you're running away from feeling—whether it's grief, joy, or anything else—that's probably the thing you need to let yourself feel the most.

Apple Cider and Subterfuge

Thoroughly enjoyed this novella of Brynn and Alex. I love it when there is mutual pining and a one bed trope!

These two were perfect for each other. Same job so they knew what they were getting into with each other. They just didn't know how hard it was going to be to pretend, and I loved it!

I squealed on the inside when they got caught by the little older ladies at the Cider festival kissing like it was going to be their last. I love that they had so much passion for each other!

At first I didn't even know where to even begin with this book. I'm usually not one to reread a synopsis after I have chosen a book and put it on my TBR. This one I did when I purchased it a few months ago.

When I was looking for a book to start a few days ago I looked at the cover and thought 🤔 Oh This looks interesting. Gothic vibes, In A Castle Of Sorts, and add in a mysterious man. It hit all of those things for me. It is a slow burn for what I felt was the first 70% of the book, if not longer. I felt like it could have picked up a bit more to keep the reader a bit more engaged.

But alas, I kept reading because I needed to know what the heck I had already gotten myself into and what would unfold.

This was a much deeper read than what I was expecting. I expected there to be some death 💀, usually there is when it comes to a sorrowful gothic book. But this took you to a whole new level. LITERALLY.

With how this ends it almost requires you to read the second book so that you can see how the first really ends. I honestly don't know that I want to take that much time to really care to see how it ends or even continues.

Another win for Olivia and Damian. I absolutely love the town of Nightmare, AZ. It's like visiting your favorite town that has all your favorite people!

I was so excited to start this when I saw it was FINALLY out. I started reading and couldn't wait any longer. It was like putting on a warm sweatshirt after you've came in from the cold outside. I was so excited to see where this book would take us in finding Baxter from the last book. And we can't forget where Olivia and Damian are romantically 👩‍❤️‍👨.

I enjoyed the mystery because it was different than all the others we have encountered in the series. I was able to say FINALLY!! I absolutely cannot wait to see what happens in the following books in the series!

I'm usually a short story girlie. But this just wasn't it for me. This was supposed to be a Mafia/virgin love story. But with a Mafia story there is supposed to be a edge for the character in the Mafia. I understand that there can be a soft side to that character as well, but there has to be a vicious side. Otherwise he wouldn't have been able to get to the point where he was with his family business.

Mafia is ruthless. They have to be. I think this author either didn't get the memo in the first part of the book or just didn't want to admit to it. She finally came around towards the end.

This could have been so much better. I hope that the authors writing gets better. With better writing and research I will definitely pick up more books by this author.

His Darkest Desire

This is the first book I have read by Tiffany and I am so grateful to a friend who recommended this to me!

I haven't read much romantasy, and this this my first Goblin romantasy and I am loving this world and these characters.

TW: Pregnancy, Miscarriage, Divorce, Abandonment, Car Accident, Enslavement

Vex was such a complicated goblin who had lived for a long period of time, alone. He had never known love like he had with Kinsley. He was shown what true love was, unlike what the Queen had shown him. He blossomed right in front of the Wisps and Kinsley so quickly. His heart ❤️ grew 5 sizes in no time. He was able to see what it was like to have a true destined mate by his side. Don't get me wrong he was an amazing mate, but he had his faults. Like most people he had his faults, but he wanted nothing but the best. I loved that he put Kinsley first, ahead of him and was willing to do anything for her.

Kinsley had her fair share of trauma in her life before she came into Vex's realm. She had no clue what she had gotten herself into when she accepted his deal. She learned over time that she could learn to love where she was in her life at that time. It was what's he wanted in life, it just wasn't where she thought she would be. I felt for this woman so much, all the way to the marrow in my bones. She had some serious trauma that unfortunately she hadn't had the time to deal with.

I was so happy while reading this when she was able to go through the motions of finding the love that she truly deserved. The love that they both truly deserved. Even with the bumpy path that they had been through to get to the place they were they were able to make a life that they both deserved. They could forge through the traumas they both had been through and make it a happy life they had always dreamed of.

Sinful Sacrifice

Pippa and Damien are two very different people who come from the same underground Mafia world. Just two very different sides of the coin. When they meet they just don't know how much they are meant to be together.

Pippa is a woman who is a dancer first and foremost. She is embroiled in a family that has known nothing but a war against her fathers addiction to gambling and his debts. She is put in an impossible position, and her parents are the absolute worst for continuing to put her there. Instead of her mother making a point to try to leave her father she continues to feed her fathers addiction and put her children in the middle of it all.

I have absolutely no respect for a woman who puts her children last and refuses to see that she is hurting them the most. She was only out for herself throughout this whole book. What I never understood in this book is that when things were being rectified the author never showed how Damien rectified anything with the mother as they should have been. A true mafioso would have never let a mother treat her daughter the way that she did. His boss would have never had to tell him what should have been done.

I loved Pippa. But this girl had no backbone. I understand family over everything but at what point is enough enough? I lost a lot of respect for her when she continually just let her mom walk all over her. I appreciate that she went back for her baby sister, because she obviously didn't have the knowledge that Pippa had. A contract was brought up for her troubles she had gotten in, but was never brought up later in the book when it should have been.

Damien was in my opinion a for sure mafioso man. But still had a ways to go. He should have done things without being prompted. He should have had words with Pippas mom about how she treated her, without Antonio promoting him. That is what a real man does. He is there for his woman at every angle at every time and date. He wouldn't just let things slide.

I appreciated that he always watched her and kept an eye on her to make sure erhay she was safe. When she needed him, he was there in no time. He stuck to his word. In that world your word is everything.

I have become a fan of this series quickly, and I am so glad. But one thing that stinks is I have to wait for the next book to come out. 😂

Although these books are worth the wait! The only thing I have come to not care for is the mysteries within the story that are carried from book to book with little to no resolution. Which I understand to keep you coming back from book to book. But it's really annoying that very little is accomplished within each book.

With each book I am loving Ri more and more, and I'm always hoping we get more kernels about her. I absolutely cannot wait for when she is able to speak more to the group. I think she has so much more to say to them! I think she has such a great personality and I think she's funny too!

Wyatt has quickly become one of my favorite characters in the series. He may be the sheriff but he cares deeply for these women, and isn't afraid to make it known. He is always doing what he can to help them out whenever they need it. I love that he isn't afraid to be the first to offer his help, but he is also the first to say he is scared of Ri. I love that he is growing more comfortable around her as the series grows. I'm even more excited to see where his and Lily's relationship grows from there as well.

Needless to say I really enjoy this series, and this book only added to this feeling. Although this book definitely threw a wrench in what I thought the mystery was for sure! But I loved every page of it down to the very end! I can't wait for the next installment!

I was excited when I opened this up after I saw it was on Kindle unlimited after I read the first book over a year ago. I was excited for a fall rendition of some spooky happenings in the house!

Fall was in full swing within this book and I really enjoyed the vibes I got from it. Everywhere close to me it's hot, and I could use all the fall 🍁 vibes 🍂.

This book definitely took me in a different direction than I expected. I was expecting a cozy mystery, which we kind of got. But this mystery went to a whole new direction. It went left field while Cassie was still in the right trying to figure everything out. Luckily, the spooky side of everything gave her some help along the way. Even though it may have scared her the most at first.

Henrietta or RI definitely made sure that she was going to make her presence known. She had so much to say and she wanted to help Cassie and Lily out, so in turn they could help her.

I got some laughs throughout the book about the Sheriff and how he reacted when he thought a ghost was in the house he was in with Lily and Cassie. He was such a lil ‘fraidy cat. I can't say I wouldn't have the same feelings though if I was in his same shoes.

Now I just need to know where everything goes from here for Cassie and Lily after everything in this book unfolded!

Holly Horror: The Longest Night

After reading the wild ride that was Holly Horror I was beyond excited when I saw that there was going to be a sequel.

I had to know what happened to Desmond, because being left with a cliffhanger was KILLING 💀 me.

But this installment left me with very few questions like last time. Last time I had sooo many questions ⁉️ and not enough to go off of. So much teenage romance 😍 and everything was left in an unbalance. But not this time.

I was so glad when I started reading this and it was like picking back up where I left off. I loved seeing Tina back in her role of resident bestie and sidekick extraordinare. I really enjoyed seeing Sai as a new character and also a new love interest. Love triangle anyone? ❤️❤️❤️

This book was so full of action, questions and definitely ghosts from the past that helped explore so much from the towns past. Evie not only had the task of being back Desmond but also figuring out what was happening to so many people in town.

Luckily Holly was able to help her along the way. I loved being able to see more of the more humanized side of Holly in this book instead of the other side we saw in the last book. It also explained so much about her from the last book. There was sooo much explained in this book about the towns past, along with Holly and others that had been trapped down below for so long.

This book definitely could be made into a movie that's for sure. As I was reading it was being played out as one in my head. There were scenes that I'm sure have been in movies but nothing that could have been to this degree. This book really took it to a degree that I have never seen in a YA Horror before.

I couldn't get enough of this book and that is all thanks to Michelle and her writing. I am now a Michelle STAN.

🍁🍂 Autumn and Zane sitting in Hollow Manor K-I-S-S-I-N-G 🍁🍂

Autumn and Zane automatically had the magic between them that rivaled anything they had ever known. And I can only imagine what it felt like. Once you find your one true love there is nothing like it in the world. Autumn found her Mr. Dreamy so unexpectedly. Who would have ever known she would meet the man of her dreams, after he told her that the ristretto she made was shit?

“This will sound ridiculous, but when I met his eyes, I thought—” “He was Mr. Dreamy? I noticed he matched the description you've given me over the years.” I nervously chuckle. “I think I need a vacation.”

“Do you feel that?” I ask Julie as the air sparks around me. An unexplainable electrical current streams through my body, causing my arm hairs to stand on end. I rub my hand over the goosebumps on my skin. Something happened between me and that beautiful bastard. The attraction is undeniable. She grins. “Maybe love is in the air? Maybe you just captured lightning in a bottle.”

I have loved the Oil Knights Series from the very beginning. I couldn't help myself when I originally got my eyes on the third installment in the series, An Unfinished Memory, I fell face first and didn't want to come back to reality. After that I ran back to get to the first book and devoured A Reckless Memory, A Temporary Memory, then A Fearless Memory. With each book I have fallen even further down the Knight family hole even further.

The last brother standing was Eliot, everyone joked in the books that he wouldn't ever get married, because he was married to the ranch. He didn't see the prospects in Buffalo Gully that others saw, until he was visiting Sawyer in her vet clinic. Then Lily appeared, with a milk stain on her t shirt in a place he wasn't quite sure if it was polite to tell a nursing mama of a newborn and little girl.

Eliot had no clue what he walked in on when he heard his name spoken from Lily's mouth and marriage. But he was willing to go with it to help her out. She was a single mom and he knew she needed all the help she could get. But boy did he get the bargain of a lifetime!

Lily is a single mom of two beautiful children who was newly divorced, newly employed and had just moved into her grandmother's home after she passed away. As if life hadn't dealt her enough crappy cards, it decided to throw her one more just for funsies. She had to be married for a year to completely inherit her grandmother's home.

Lily had such a great heart and honestly saw the best in most people. She felt as if she could depend on people to do right by her because she would do right by everyone. Unfortunately, that didn't always happen for her. She wanted to prove herself with both of her kids that she could stand on her own two feet, despite what others had said to her in the past. But she let it slip that one person was going to be her groom when she hadnt really had more than a couple of conversations with him.

Once Lily was able to see Eliot for who he was she was able to truly love him for the person he was. She was able to let her walls down and show him who she truly was beyond the great mom she was to her two adorable kids. I absolutely loved who Eliot was with Cali and Kellan, he loved those kids like they were his own. He never treated them as if they were someone else's kids. I loved how he made sure that they were always included in everything. Cali took to him like no other. Kids know people a lot better than people give them credit for. And if a kid likes an adult that much then it says a lot about their character.

I loved who these two were together but I loved who they were as a family the most. I couldn't get over how precious they were once they were finally able to make it work to their advantage.

Death of a Duchess

I have read another book by Nellie and loved the cozy mystery she wrote. So when I read the premise of this I thought 🤔 this sounds right up my alley. I love when someone can speak to the dearly departed during a historical time? Yes please!

This started off on a sadder note than I was expecting and I went with it. Then it only kind of tanked me from there. It honestly didn't get to be the better side of things until I hit the 75% mark. If the writer wouldn't have written things the way they were written and could have changed things around I think this book could have been sooo much better.

Problems I had with the storyline:

+ No definitive timeframe.

Before cars and trains, but nothing was ever said about the timeframe. I think if there would have been a timeframe given I could have pictured things better.

+ Lenora's flashbacks of her story were too spread out.

I wish that the author would have told her back story in a better way. Instead of taking such large chunks of the book in between different events. I understand why she did what she did, but it takes away from everything else going on. I ended up skimming through a good portion of the story because I didn't want to keep reading about her backstory when we should have been going forward about the mystery at hand.

+ Very little character development for Robert. For him to play such a large part in this story he should have had more development. Instead we spent more time on Lenora. And in the end some characters were completely abandoned completely. We never heard anything else about them at all.

In the end I wish we could have seen more about certain characters and what happened after a certain amount of time. But I guess that may be how she hooks you into coming back to read the second book. I don't think that will be happening.

This was a sweet romance that involved a grumpy female female main character and a Sunshine Male Main Character. They were high school sweethearts who weren't on the greatest path but went their separate ways in life.

Even though their meeting wasn't what they were expecting they definitely had so much to go over in their relationship to smooth things over.

I enjoyed getting to know these characters and their family throughout the book. I enjoyed it but I have to say not as much as I did the previous book.

Homebound is the first books that I have read by Meredith and I am kicking myself in the tail that I have read anything by her before now. I absolutely love and adore these characters and this book!

I grew up going to rodeos with my uncle and our family and it is RARE to see a female bull rider. In all the rodeos that I went to I never saw one. And I have went to my fair share. My uncle worked the rodeos, him and my cousin were in them and competed in them. So it is a massive achievement to be able to say that a female bull rider is riding.

Dakota's not a sunshine girl, never has been and never will be. She's an ambitious cynic with a crazy drive to succeed, and I couldn't think of a better role model for my daughter. I want her to see that she can be anything, whether that's a teacher, a mom, or the president, so she never feels limited by the world around her.

“Listen up,” Wyatt commands. She goes rigid. “Yeah, you've got to work harder to get on their level, but you've got something they don't. Grit, and that'll take you far. Success is made of a hell of a lot more grit than luck. People respect that. We'll get you on the right macros, keep training in the gym, and you'll be ready for the bigger bulls.”  She nibbles her bottom lip, suddenly looking like the little girl that stole my heart with one crooked smile. “You really think so?”  “I know it.” I squeeze her again. “I'll always bet on you, Dakota Cutler.”

I was immediately back into this storyline from where I left off at the end of the last book and I couldn't stop reading. Well until I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. Imagine that, not being able to keep you're eyes open because you've stayed awake so long to read because you HAVE to know what's going to happen next.

This book brought me through so many emotions. Happiness, sadness, anger, angst, being tense to bawling my eyes out. And a few other feelings, but we won't talk about those this early in our review. By the end I didn't know how I felt other than sad that I wouldn't be in this world anymore. That this was the final book and I didn't know how to feel about it. Now that I have had some time to think about it, I'm not okay. I'm saddened that I won't get to be back with my four favorite characters that I have come to love sooo much.

“Edward- “I've always loved you, Brianna. I loved you before you were even born. I might be the one who's haunted this house for six centuries, but I've always been haunted by you. You're why I write my poems, why I paint, why I seek every possible pleasure upon this earth – because I wish to drive you from my flesh, to make you real. But nothing I could ever imagine compares to the woman I hold in my arms. I feel as though I am lost in a dream, for surely nothing in my life could be so perfect, so made for me?”

I hope that she knows that no matter what happens, I will love her until the stars blink out and the ocean dries up, maybe even longer. I can't give Bree the answers, but I can give her this release, this moment to collect herself.

I can remind her exactly what we're fighting for. And perhaps, when I'm called to the front lines of this battle, I will give her the life that hums in my veins.

I immediately ran to this book and was completely shocked over and over again. This author knows how to pack a punch when it comes to not only these characters but the events that involve them.

The name of this book gave me some giggles and couldn't have been more on brand. There were times when I was surprised, confused, trying to figure out things along with everyone while also being jealous of her and these sexy men she is surrounded by! You can't help but wonder what it is like to be constantly surrounded by these three.

I loved being able to see Bree grow into her magic and explore more in her magic. I love that she is growing more brave and is learning more. I hope that she is able to take it to bigger heights as she learns more. I think what she has learned in this book (which is astronomical) and continue to build and grow even more in her magic.

I loved being able to see more of Edwards life and how he came to be where he is in his journey of his afterlife. It made me emotional for him because of how he felt about his life then and now because he felt as if he didn't belong. He felt as if his family didn't want him, especially his father. He felt used and abused by his friends.

TW: Parkinson's Disease, Dementia

I really enjoyed this book and I'm so glad that it included more of her parents! I really loved seeing her parents and their interactions with her boyfriends. I liked being able to see the relationship that Bree and her dad had. It was such a sweet relationship that so many girls want with their fathers.

We definitely got more spice in this book than the last. And some different spice!

We got some instruction from Edward to Pax, but also so demonstration. Some feelings were definitely shown regarding this. I can't wait to see what comes of this in the next book!

If You've Got It, Haunt It

After reading the second book I immediately started reading this book because who couldn't after the cliffhanger?? I got sucked in, okay? The author knows what the heck she is doing with her writing when it comes to these books. She knows how to write her characters well.

She writers her female main character well and brings in her supporting male characters in and gives them such great personalities.

Then she has to go and make them sexy and make them do sexy things to each other. Not as much as in previous books. But there is still sexy things happening in this book.

There was so much more to the magic in this book and I loved seeing how much she explored herself and her magic. I also loved seeing how much she explored her feelings for her men. I loved this whole book and once again I'm hooked because of what has happened and I am running to go read the next book.

You're So Dead to Me

I started this thinking okay this definitely isn't what I read as the synopsis, but the farther I got into the book it quickly became the synopsis. I would definitely say this was less mystery and romance more ghostly sexy shenanigans. Mostly ghostly sexy shenanigans towards the end. With magic intertwined throughout that I feel will definitely need explaining in the next book and possibly more if it continues like it does in this book.

TW: Death, Parkinson's Disease, Deterioration of Health of a Parent, Bullying, Dementia

I truly did enjoy this book and getting to know the spirits that inhabited the manor. Ambrose, Edward, & Pax each had their own lives respectively and have their own ways of living their own after lives. They definitely play their own roles in Bree's life when she was younger and now as she has gotten older. I really enjoyed seeing what those roles entailed as the book progressed.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ STEAMY- If it's not for you- Skip Through

I will say that the scenes that were in this book at first were a bit different because I wasn't sure how I was going to react considering they involved ghosts. But to be honest if you can get past that fact you are golden. With the magic that is involved they all get past that part and everything is normal.

I take a breath, close my eyes, and I fall. I fall into Edward. And just like this spoiled, surly prince has done my entire life, he catches me. Only this time, it's his lips that catch me. No, they capture me. Capture me and crack me open. I taste burnt sugar and opium as his tongue dips between my lips. This is Edward, who – if the history books and his own boasting can be believed – has kissed a thousand horny countesses, instigated orgies, fornicated in throne rooms, and done every wild and depraved thing I can imagine (and several I can't). And now he is kissing me. He groans into my mouth, like I am special, like I'm everything he's ever wanted. I can't believe this.
