Surprisingly thrilling for a book about a squarish world in which water doesn't flow in an earthly fashion. Max Brook's style and story-telling expertise are probably a big part of this success.
It's Robinson Crusoe, or Cast Away, but in the world of Minecraft. It lets itself be read and never gets boring. Plus, it makes you want to play Minecraft again.

I'll recommend it to anyone who's ever dreamt of physically entering a video game and living its adventures.

A very entertaining story overall. The characters are lovable and the humour makes it a very entertaining pick. It's kind of a page turner. A lot is left to your imagination which makes it a very good bedside book. I wish the romance had been explored a bit more but I don't think it was the main point of this book. So I'll rate it 5 stars. One of his best works yet, in my humble opinion.

I have kind of a mixed feeling about this one. Although the writing is pretty good, I could not bring myself to really care for the characters, which made it a bit hard to enjoy the book. I did enjoy it after a while though, but it took quite a long time.

I laughed all the way through the book. Having read another book from the same author, I wasn't expecting that book to be that funny. I really enjoyed it: characters are colourful and relatable and the fairy tale feeling doesn't fade either. I'd like a sequel very much.

Very satisfying, light, funny, the characters are relatable, the romance is cute as heck and the mom is french, what's not to like?
