I rarely listen before I read, but I needed a book for my drive to/from work and I got the audiobook loan for this one from the Libby app.
Rich girl, poor guy meet while she's in college. We don't hear the entire story, but he ghosted her.
Years later, he's a super star in Hollywood, she's a successful lawyer.
One drunk night with her best girlfriend puts in motion one of the most super hot reunions I've ever read.
Um... Ok, stop now... Maybe potentially spoilers...

Ok, now that we're down here... OMG... Seriously, without saying what, the twists in this book are freaking insane! What you thought you knew, you didn't! Those feelings you had, like how is this story going to end when there's another book after this, but everything is leading me towards a HEA, yeah, fugetaboutit.
Meghan, I LOVE your writing! I started on book 2 and I'm going to buy the book so i don't have to wait for my 3 days in the office drive to work!
Smexy scenes, no closed doors here... EVERY door is opened, trust me! :)
Cole... Omg COLE! I love all of Bella's men, but I love nothing more than a broken MMC who is fixed by his bond with the FMC. This is a great Omegaverse book. Bella is engaged to an Alpha influencer. He's gorgeous, rich and always perfect. Too bad it's all for social media. Feeling pressure from her family, Bella is the perfect Omega girlfriend. After a near miss, the Vanguard Pack is hired to protect Bella and Braxley. In comes Roman, Troy, Cole, Liam and Savva; a harden pack of Alpha's, brothers, who's bond is forged from a lifetime of danger. They show up at the Penthouse to start protection duty and after one look at Bella, they all know she is theirs. Lots of twists and turns in this one, every Alpha has their own backstory and personality and I love them all!! The smexy scenes are SUPER sexy and the end is a HEA. Can't recommend this one enough!
This book burns hot (pun intended!)
Not your typical billionaire/poor girl romance, this story has history and pain and suspense and sadness, rolled up in between plenty of smexy. Jackson, your standard rich playboy meets a beautiful redhead and falls hard, but he's so stupid he doesn't realize it LOL. Ginny lives with her Foster Brother, works multiple jobs and has a ton of baggage, a lot of it from said Foster Brother. They meet and the sparks fly. There's so many twists and turns in this book, you'd think it would make it convoluted, but D.L. does an amazing job of bringing the reader through the story, full of amazingly deep characters, and after breaking my heart 1800 times, ends on very hard earned HEA. I'm SO looking forward to reading the next book, and the extra chapter and Scott and Sadies story!!
Oh my goddess. This book is incredible. Absolutely the best unaliver dark romance I've read in so long. A woman who's been through some serious crap in her life ends up in a cheap motel the night before she's planning on unaliving herself. She crosses paths with a super hot stranger that decides she should be his next conquest; both in the bedroom and removing her vital signs. They end up having a night of smexy that had me yelling “HOLY S*** THIS BOOK IS HOT” out loud, scaring my man and making my cat run out of the room LOL. This is some fantastic storytelling. Seriously this book will be huge. I'm SO happy I found this author on threads, I hope she writes 100 books, I'll buy every one of them!!!!
A.K. really outdid herself with the 3rd book in this series. The final book finds Aggie, the sister of the 3 siblings, who we saw on and off in the first 2 books. Aggie's been in love with her best friend Noah since they were kids. A lifetime of disappointment and heartbreak with Noah treating her like complete garbage, yet her heart just can't let him go. Noah, famous rock star, has managed to get his life together and has been straight and sober for years. A surprise pregnancy and sudden death of the mother of his adorable Daughter Clover gave him the push he needed to grow up, get help and take care of his priority; his kid. Unsurprising, Noah has been in love with Aggie just as long as she's been in love with him. This book is the story of how they found their way back to each other. A.K. builds characters so well, I feel their love and pain and heartbreak. The only thing I didn't like about this book is my insane jealousy of the entire Riley family and wishing they were real so I could worm my way into their lives and make them my family! Sad that it's over, it was a quick read and I wish the books were 3 times longer than they were, but they are not rushed and were all wonderful. I did get an ARC copy of this book, but I also support AK by downloading from Amazon as well. No one makes me leave good reviews, well maybe AK does because she couldn't write a lousy story if she tried!!
Book 2 in the Riley Siblings series, I finished book one yesterday and book 2 today! First, FYI, I'm lucky enough to be on A.K.'s crew so I got an advanced review copy. I gave this book 5 stars because there wasn't an option for 6. I figured there was no way the 2nd book could be as good as the first one, boy was I wrong! The story continues with another Riley brother, Knox. Knox is a MMA fighter who is close to retirement. He lost his last fight, and his belt, to some jerk and he wants to fight one last time to go out on top. A wicked shoulder injury during the last fight and his inability to not punish his body by training has made it iffy on if he will even be able to fight, let alone win. His awesome Mom forces him to go to a Dr. that she sees who is a specialist in all kind of different therapies. Hazel is an insecure, double doctorate, sweet as pie woman and it's everything BUT love at first sight for the two of them. Turns out, they already know each other after 5 years of being online friends, who won't admit to each other that their feelings are stronger than friendship. If you read my reviews, you know I don't do spoilers, so I'll just say that this book is quick! I couldn't put it down because every single chapter was awesome! Knox is a dumb arse, like most men, and does a great job of sabotaging their potentially HEA, but in the end.... Well I just said I don't do spoilers, so just go read the book! OMG being an ARC reader is so awesome, I'm off to read the third book now!
I got an advanced reader copy of this book because I stalk A.K in a nice way and got on the list. However, I'm leaving this review because I want to make sure you know if you dont read this you are losing out big time! This book is the most sappy, perfect, I cried every other paragraph book I've read in a while. Sid & Blake are both romance authors who are working together on a book after she emailed him when when she was baked, looking for some advice from a well known author she admired. Sid has a complete d-b of an ex and although she's cool AF, she is super insecure and feels like her ex's failings were somehow her fault. Her mentor for the last 2 years Blake, helps her realize that's not the case. I SO want to spoil this and talk about how freaking awesome this story is, how it made me feel like an amazing man falling head over heel's in love isn't just for fiction and how my SO needs to step the f up because no one has ever looked at me like Blake looks at Sidney. It's a quick read and the first story in a 3 book series. If I hadn't only gotten 3 hours of sleep staying up reading this last night, I would stay up again! Anyway, trust me, I'm usually down for the darker the better. But this one made me feel so light and happy and hopeful. A.K never met a genre she couldn't make her biotch.
Wow
Rough one, for most of the book I wasn't a fan of the FMC. She was a complete pushover and not very street smart. How many times can someone screw you over before you start seeing what's really going on? But I realized that this is more about the super complicated relationship between her and the MMC. If you don't need your bullied women to be secretly strong or bad arses, this is a great story! Big cliffy, like I need a drink after that ending lol.
A dark love story
Violet is a good girl, a virgin, a great friend, sweet and loyal to her boyfriend. But, shocker (LOL), she has a darkness inside of her that she keeps hidden. When her boyfriend turns out to not be as good of a guy as she thought, and something terrible happens on a dark back road, her life collides with Saint, who, shocker (LOL), isn't much of a Saint! I love the way Eva was able to take a sick, twisted, psychopath and figure out a way for him to show and (sort of) feel love. This one has some seriously dark themes, so mind your TW's, but if you can deal with the dark and love it like I do, this one is one of the best ones I've read in this genre!
A love story set at Halloween
AJ is such an awesome storyteller! I love Halloween and everything about it. Nothing better than to set a serial unaliver, why choose, MMF romance at Halloween! Bailey lives in a small town that loves Halloween, when Phoenix, her best friends brother, comes back into town with his boyfriend Rory, it brings back the awful memories that she thought she had been able to put behind her. I can't really say anything else without spoiling. This is a great story, with drama, unaliving, smexy time and a very unconventional love story. Bailey will do anything to save the men she loves, even if she isn't sure if they will keep her around, or alive, when everything is said and done.
A little bit of everything
I love the mish-mash of genre! Let's see, high School bully, mafia princes, nerdy/good girl with darkness inside of her, MFM, hmmm what else, suspense, drama, horror, you name it! This is a great book, honestly I thought with all of that, it would be another cookie cutter story, but Steph managed to make all that into a fantastic story that I couldn't put down! Ends on a cliffy, of course. But unlike some of these stories that are 10 books long and should have been 1, there's so many interesting loose ends, I'm going to start the second book now, hopefully, (I haven't seen how old this one is LOL) when I should be going to sleep!!
A Summer Nightmare
Summer is a camp counselor who runs into a man in the woods who makes her a deal she can't refuse. He might not be the only thing that goes bump in the night. At the end of the day, this is a romance, LOL. It makes me laugh to type it, but it's true. Kayde and Summer meet in a seriously messed up way, but his devotion and love for her is amazing. This book has laughs, smexy time, unaliving, mystery and a twist that will make you go WTF. AJ writes amazing books and I haven't found one yet I didn't love. DO read your trigger warnings folks, as usual, not for the weak constituted or people who feel the annoying need to drag their real life morals into a work of fiction.
I love love
Hazel and Patrick, unexpected. Hazel keeps running into Patrick and he's kind of a jerk, he shows up just about everywhere after a night she'd rather forget (not what you think LOL.) He's gorgeous, closed off and 10 years her senior. After ending a horrible relationship, Hazel is not quick to take a chance on love again. This one is a slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww burn, but it's also so cute, and emotional and her bestie is so awesome, I wish she was real. Lots of ups and downs, heart ache and break, plenty of sexy time. Wonderful book, can't wait to read the next book, where her awesome roommate finds love, and runs away from it as fast as she can!!
wow
Wow this was a great freaking story, I read it in one day, that included a full day of work and no sleep 2 nights in a row. Unreal story, heartbreaking as heck, so much angst, so many people who may or may not be friends or foe's. No redemption in this one, just sadness and despair, read the TW's please.
Complicated and dark
This book is a hard one emotionally, an event that forever changed 2 of the MC's still haunts them years later. When she comes back into his life, can he convince her that she is perfect for her and his brothers? Not actual like blood brothers FYI, not that kind of book LOL. It's dark, and violent and sexy and the 4 MC's have chemistry that is off the charts.
A second chance without all the fluff
Second chance romance can be so cliche, but this one wasn't at all and that's a great thing! No 200 pages of bs fluff where we have to watch the MC's dance around and screw everything up 20 times. This book has just enough angst to make my heart break, but not so much that I wanted to throw my kindle across the room. Ryder is the typical jock with the blonde girlfriend, Elle is the nerd with a crush. This book is a beautiful tribute to two people who actually do the right thing and put others before their feelings for each other. Flash forward 10 years and circumstances put them back in each others orbits. A.R. writes emotions in a way that you can't help but feel like you are part of the story, at least I can't. She also setup book 2 beautifully, I'm DYING to know what happens and on my way to get it downloaded as soon as I hit submit on this review.
Nova is unstoppable
Wow! This book is nuts! Nova is running from a life spent as an experiment for her scientist father. When she meets others from his same sick experiments, she realizes that this is way bigger than just her. The story follows her and her 5 men as they travel around the world, trying to unravel the sick people who continue her fathers legacy. Tons of twists and turns, even more smexy time with her and her men. Looking forward to the 2nd book after the hella plot twist at the end!
Spoiler ahead... Stop reading now if you don't want to know. I don't spoil the book, but I do answer a question that made it hard for me to finish it.
.... I got very attached to all of the MC's, so about 3/4's through the book I started worrying they might unalive one of them. They don't, so don't worry, it's not pretty and everyone isn't unhurt, but no one unalives.
My punishment is greater than I can bear
Holyyyyyy S... You know the rest, I don't want my post to get declined. WOW, I love dark, the darker the better and this one is darkness personified. Cain is a unaliver who has a fetish for those things you look at people with. When he sees a girl with violet eyes, he becomes obsessed. Kirby is a FBI agent in training with a ton of baggage thanks to her awful Mother and a boyfriend who is SO annoying. This book never spends one second of a page on something boring or drawn out. Every word is there for a reason and the story is just so interesting. Brooklyn wrote a psychopath better than I've ever read and you can't help but love him. So many twists and turns. Do read any TW's, if you have a wimpy disposition you probably won't enjoy this one. If you love red stuff and things that are supposed to be on the inside on the outside and screaming and chaos, this is the one for you! Truly a love story.
This restored my faith in the mafia RH genre
I'm sure you've already read the summary of what the book is about, so I won't bore you repeating it. I've read a LOT of RH, Mafia, bad guy (all in the same book or one of the 3) and honestly I was getting tired of the same story line with different names, geographical locations and a couple of things to try and make it different. This book is amazing! I'm not sure what made it different except maybe K.A. Knight is just a fan-freaking-tastic author. The FMC and MMC's are all incredible. Their back stories and personalities so well developed that I felt like they were friends by the end of the book. Off in the head and dark friends, but friends none the less. The FMC is an insanely brave woman, who survived a bad upbringing and life on the streets to become this epic, tattoo'd, tough, confident biotch. The MMC's are loyal and true family and I loved them all, regardless of how dark, depraved and unalivey as they act throughout the story. Just a great book.
There was only one thing I disliked about this story and that was that it was too short. Such a cute and emotional story in only a few pages takes talent! Maria and Mark are such cute characters. Maria is a barista who is afraid to take a chance on love, after being hurt in relationships more than once. Mark is a successful bachelor who feels like something is missing in his life. When Maria's bff makes her scroll through her FB friends list to look for love, she decides on a whim to do something that ends up changing her life. I love how strong yet insecure Maria is, I love how Mark not once even thinks that her size is a factor in anything. It was refreshing to not go through the standard “but I'm so big and you are so hot” line that so many authors use. She's a woman, he's a man and when they are together, sparks fly. Great, quick read.
I don't even know where to start! Read the TW's, this one is rough. The characters are so well written, and I was so personally invested in their relationships, that when bad stuff happened I was a complete disaster.
That being said, the happy and funny times were so much sweeter because you can't help but fall in love with all of them. A horrible attack breaks apart 5 people before they can confess their love for each other. Poor Leo, she has had more thrown at her than 10 lifetimes of a normal person. Her men, Lucky, Norm, Mark and Pete all suffer to give her what she needs back, safety, security, love and music. Her psudo adoptive parents are amazing seccondary characters that I loved getting to know as well. Smexy time is off the freaking rails! Can't recommend enough!
Hailey know's how to fix broken relationships and people, but not herself. Her new client, Arlo, is much more than he seems. I refuse to spoil it with more specifics than that, but this book is way more than it first appears to be. Amazing MC's, wonderful secondary characters, and a story so full of ups and downs and unexpected things that it kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire read. I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am soooo happy I did because this book is fantastic! I'm completely leaving this review voluntarily, you couldn't get me to write a review on a book I didn't enjoy no matter what. I'm sad I'm already done reading it because I just loved this story so much. Don't worry, there is a TON of smexy in this book, some vanilla, some not so much. Probably a few triggers too so make sure you read any TW's beforehand. I may have gotten an advanced copy, but I'll be buying the published version the second I can!! Can't wait for book 2!!!!
