was reading this for almost a month and only made it 45 pages in, which should have been my first clue. this is about a mom of THREE going through a divorce who starts going out with an adult man who skateboards. just like...not for me. at all. i enjoyed annabel monaghan's writing a lot, though, so i will check out same time next summer later this summer.
YA is simply no longer for me because I'm 27 and that's okay. I do wish I could enjoy this at my big age because I've seen many recommendations for Lynn Painter's YA romances from fellow adult readers, but alas, that's not me. I will say, though, 16-year-old Zoey would have EATEN THIS UP. And it would've given her ideas about her neighbor slash carpool buddy slash close friend since kindergarten. Perhaps it's for the best that this wasn't around back then. lmao
this is really, really bad lol. the flashbacks are painful to read, cam is potentially the FLATTEST character i've EVER read, and i'm highly disappointed.
It took me weeks to read 93 pages of this and while there's nothing technically wrong with it, I was bored.
