I don't even know how to review this. I went in blind, trying to read anything and everything to see what newness I find and like. I didn't like this. In fact, I felt dirty and ashamed. I felt sad and horrified. I read up to volume 6 simply because I was hoping that it would turn around. The story is addictive. There are good people in the story but even they are put in positions where they do evil things. Forced to do things they normally wouldn't. You are rooting for those moments where they are good and pure but they are so far and in between t0 the point of non existence. With each volume it feels as if it will turn around. The two MCs start to become more intimate, exploring something between them that has just been so vicious and ugly. You can't make rape romantic or pretty. It's just been a mind fuck and I don't think it will get any better with repent and graveling and redemption. I don't know... this was probably the darkest series I've read to date and I didn't like it one bit.

I'm not rating because I'm just not sure what the author's purpose was. If it was meant to be the most horrible thing ever, they achieved it with 5 stars. Other than that, I don't understand the purpose of horrific on top of horrific for how ever many volumes.
