When a doctor is injured in WW2 and loses his eyesight to a head injury, he's returned to the United States and the very hotel where his Army pen-pal, Betsy, works as a Harvey Girl.
Much of the action seemed to rely too heavily on happenstance (meeting people at just the psychological moment who should have been on the other side of the world, etc), but as a short novel I can forgive it some of that, because the story is just too sweet. It was interesting to learn a bit about how the German prisoners were housed in Colorado at Camp Carson; that's a detail not featured too often in fiction. It was also fun that the story featured scenes from both Thanksgiving and Christmas.
