listen, I dnfed at 70% BUT it was good and I mean I could of loved this story. I went in mostly blind and I was not aware that the MMCs also all develop feelings for each other. All of the reverse harems I've read (which is like two) the men are completely utterly obsessed with women and have a bond and decide to share her but the love between the men is platonic. This is what threw me off, the men's love for each felt under developed at the 70% mark and then they all just decide to have sexy times? Another issue I had is slightly with the set up. We are following this queen who given the ultimatum to become fair or else yanno. It's a Christmas Carol retelling but with fae who get to spend a few days with her at a time. This is my issue, we've seen her days with the two first MMCs and the last one she has barely spent anytime with yet there is the undeniable attraction to him, I just couldn't believe their love in the slightest.
The writing was absolute perfection and the plot was unique and gripping. Brax is my baby and he made this book for me. I love our FMCs redemption arc that I got to read. I'm just not forcing myself to read books this year so if you like a little sword crossing and can have a little suspension of disbelief for a part of the romance, this story will be amazing.
It was really hard reading this in the beginning because of how much I disliked the FMC, but as the “Scrooge” in this retelling, that's to be expected. I really loved the growth the character went through and the MMCs as well.
Genuinely, I ended up loving this book more than I expected.
