The writing and the plot line ought to have about four and a half stars. However, he used the book to push a platform of peaceful socialism, with which I cannot ever agree. For this reason, three stars is generous. It is interesting to have the view of the social issues of England right at the start of WWI, but the hero's Socialist philsophies were too blatant to ignore. Basically, a good book with a wrong message.
