I believe I read this when I was around 12, when I was just coming out of my Civil-War-craze phase, but I still enjoyed it quite a lot. I would have read the whole series, except I was getting into adult literature at that age, and my parents preferred to buy books that would keep me busy for three hours instead of 45 minutes!
