“Alien Bride” is the first Penelope Woods book I have read.
I like Emma's growth as a person in Bride. I think her ability to be self-aware under such dire circumstances is remarkable. Woods created a strong heroine in Emma.
The guys' backstory is deplorable. Woods creates a terrible world for them. All of which sets up the premise of the book.
The premise of the book is a good one. I really like Emma. So give Alien Bride a read.
