This is a light read. I enjoyed it. It's not the best indie book I've read but it definitely isn't slush either. I was entertained and I will read the rest of the trilogy. I'll also be sure to check out The Swarm Trilogy.
A short, novella length work that I finished in an afternoon. The plot is straightforward, and I could see most of the twists from several chapters away. But the story was competently handled, the writing got the job done, and the characters were well developed. Not every book needs to be a paragon of literature. I enjoyed the time I spent in this world, and it made for a perfect non-taxing read on a sunny Sunday. I'm glad this is available as a download on Goodreads, as I doubt I would have bothered with it otherwise, and I would have missed a good story. I'll be purchasing the next books in the series, once I catch up on my book backlog a little.
