The first part of this collection follows directly on from the end of the previous one, tying up the main plotline and seeing the Batgirls facing off against the same, rather uninteresting, trio of villains. There is some fun along the way, and the art is decent, but it's nothing standout.
This is followed, however, by the serial killer plot that was bubbling away in the background of volume 1. Here, it comes to the fore, and there's a good mix of investigation, action, and red herrings on the way to the resolution. The series continues to have a sense of grounding, for all the antics of its leads, with moments for Barbara and Dick, a good supporting character from the GCPD, and a villain who doesn't fit the usual Gotham City tropes (well, one of the villains anyway).
