I recall getting to the end of [b:The Hidden Hand: Or, Capitola the Madcap 260164 The Hidden Hand Or, Capitola the Madcap E.D.E.N. Southworth https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1347814213s/260164.jpg 1957584] and realizing with a shock that I didn't have the rest of the story! It took me five years to find a copy of this book to read, and it was about time. :) It may not be perfection, but sometimes a dose of classic melodrama with a good Christian lesson is exactly what the doctor ordered. I've reread it several times.
