And Alex must contend with something he hasn't known since the loss of his wife: he's falling deeply in love, and this romance will make him, and her, all the more vulnerable....
Gary Soneji is back. He vows his last act on earth will be taking the life of Alex Cross. But first he wants some fun, and Union Station, Washington, and Penn Station in New York are scenes of chaos as Soneji creates a train ride to hell. This book was wild. In this book Gary Soniji from the first book has come to get revenge on Alex Cross by killing him and his whole family. He was even in their house skulking around in the cellar imagining how he would do it. He wasn't ready though, not yet. He has things to do first but he warned Alex that he would get to him and his whole family even if he died.
At the same time another serial killed known by the public as “Mr. Smith” was terrorizing France. An FBI agent friend of Cross' is trying to get Alex in on the case to help with the profile but he declines. Alex doesn't want to get involved because he wants to be around to spend time with his kids. Some things can't be helped though and he ends up trying to untangle the details so he could get inside the mind of Mr. Smith and put an end to his killing spree.
This book is fast moving and has a surprise at the end so make sure you have the next book ready to go. #cliffhanger
