I grabbed book three in this series at a library sale for a dime, so when the big LIS sale came up, I downloaded this one just to get a start on the series. The synopsis really didn't grab me much, and the sample was okay, but because I didn't want to miss out on something, I decided to go ahead and risk it. Turns out, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. It's something different, with a fish biologist and a very sudden escalation from dirty water to a drug lord's border compound.
The Christianity parts were worked in easily and gently, in a natural manner, as Tessa and Jeff grow in their trust in God during the chase after them. I did feel that their first kiss came a bit out of left field, but it didn't keep me from deciding to download book two as well.
