This is the second book I have read by this author in the past month and I loved it almost as much as I did Dirty Rich One Night Stand I say almost and really the only reason why I say that is I felt a bit at the beginning like I was dropped into the middle of an ongoing story. I'm guessing had I read the Tall, Dark & Deadly Series first this wouldn't have been the case. That said, it wasn't a massive issue as I got sucked into the story quite quickly. So it is THIS readers opinion that you can read this one fine as a standalone but if you want a fuller experience start with the Tall, Dark & Deadly Series.
So deets...I found this one to be well written and very well paced. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages. No ow drama. Some OM drama. I didn't find it particularly angsty. There was no push/pull. The sex scenes were hot (but not that plentiful). The couple's attraction to each other was quite quick. The secondary characters were interesting and consisted mostly of Walker Security people. Both main characters were very likable. Kyle was your typical hot, sexy, alpha type. There isn't a single mention of his sexual past which I LOVED. I hope this is a trend that continues through other books by this author. It's nice to be able to go into a book without being worried you are going to get smacked in the face with past sexcapades and cartoon villain exes! Myla was also a strong character. She fought. She had determination. She wanted to keep her sister safe. She was smart and had a big heart. Lastly, it was all wrapped up in a sweet ending. An epilogue would have been a bonus, but I assume we will see these two in upcoming books, so it didn't bother me that much. Nothing left to say really, this gets two solid thumbs up from yours truly and I am looking forward to PULLED UNDER when it releases later this month.
