I will not tell you anything different then what has already been said about this book. Kate Stewart knows how to break a heart. This book is so well written and completely devastating. I knew it was going to break me as everyone says so but I had no idea I might need therapy afterwards. I ugly cried so hard. The characters were well formed and thought out. The plot is amazing. If you are looking for feelings here is your book.
I love this book, can't get these characters out of my head. On to the next one in the series.
Utterly broken.
I don't think Ill be able to fully recover from this one. Such a beautiful book, but so damn heartbreaking.
Audiobook and e-book, read with a group chat of ladies.
Holy cow. So many emotions. I've never cried so hard and so much from a book. There were moments when I felt the emotions with Cee. So much love, so many lies, so much heartbreak. I love the adventures, the mystery, and the excitement. I highly recommend it! Very excited to jump into book 3.
wow... just... wow.
This book absolutely destroyed me. I don't think I'm ever going to be the same after this one. I'm still crying.
The book somewhat starts where the first left off. You get a throwback that then bleeds into the now.
The whole book was one big rollercoaster, so if you’re looking for happy flowers, then go re-read the first book, be mindful of the dark romance tag. Also Stewart I will not forgive you for *that*..
I can't even begin to explain how much this surprised me.
I was expecting to give it 3 or 4 stars but it absolutely deserves all the 5
This was heartbreaking...
I felt the pain in every mention of Dom and was shattered after the truth about her father came out.
I spent the last couple of pages sobbing
As much as I love Tobias, I wouldn't know what choice to make between the 3 of them, cause of everything we got from Dom and Sean in the first book. It still hurts a little that they didn't get the ending they wanted from the start.
I absolutely loved Cecilia's badass businesswoman side and I stand behind all her crazy defiant behavior.
What I didn't love:
- The amount of times she had to beg these men to love her was embarrassing.
- I was so utterly confused most of the time about the damn secrets and sometimes I feel like the author doesn't do a good job clarifying wtf is going on cause everyone seemed to know (including Cecilia) except me.
This review is all over the place but so is my heart so it's fitting
Super meh, definitely not as enjoyable as the first one. I kept reading just to find out how it would all end, but it was really repetitive and pretty anti-climactic. Cecelia was actively annoying the shit out of me by the 75% mark and I felt like some of the spice landed all the way on the wrong side of the consent line, even with suspension of disbelief factored in. Like I said, super meh. I gave it three stars but it's probably leaning toward a 2.5.
