I do love a good story with young sweethearts getting a second chance later in life. The story is high-action, and I didn't guess the culprit until past halfway. Wow...this bad guy has some nerves of steel and an incredible thirst for blood and vengeance. The romance was super sweet and I was definitely rooting for the heroine to break away from her father's insane need for control.

Funny gripe: I felt like docking a star (but didn't) because a “picturesque old farmhouse” with “peeling paint” got a coat of “fresh vinyl siding” in the course of the story. I felt like shouting at the author for defacing an old home instead of giving it the fresh paint it deserved. The thought of it scarred my eyes.
