ALEKS After my divorce, I'm ready to have fun, date around, and not get into anything serious. Then I meet Gabe Crosby, superhero firefighter and a disgrace to the Crosby name. He doesn't even like hockey! Yet, there's a draw to him I can't deny-something I haven't felt since my teens. But that's the problem. I have no idea what dating is like, let alone how to do it with another man. He makes me flakey and nervous, and I've never been that guy. Gabe turns me inside out and upside down in the best possible ways. I only recently became single, but if I continue to chase after him, I might not stay that way for long. GABE When I meet Aleksander Emerson during an emergency call-out, there are three things that catch my attention: his sexy tattoos, his kind eyes, and his drunken offer to have my babies. He's new to Seattle and recently divorced, so I take him under my wing-and under my sheets. I'm showing him what the world of hookups is like, only those hookups turn into sleepovers and dates and public displays of jealousy. Aleks is in his casual era, and I'm working my way toward settling down and starting a family. What the two of us have is fun, but not a good idea permanently. Too bad Aleks has already set my life on fire.

Not my favourite of the series, but still very enjoyable. Just like with the connecting CU Hockey series, reading any book in the Foolish Puckboys series feels like coming back home; I love seeing glimpses and moments of the previous books' characters from both these series. These are more comfort books for me than anything else.
That said, while there was definitely good chemistry between Aleks and Gabe, I couldn't find anything special about it. The first half—the way Gabe is introduced to the Queer Collective members, including Aleks was HILARIOUS and arguably my favourite part of the whole story.
After that, I started getting a bit bored because there wasn't much about these two that kept me eager binge the book. Aleks' personality meshed too similarly with other characters in the previous book from the jokes he makes, to the way he speaks or goes about flirting with Gabe. He just wasn't unique enough for me to love him as much as other characters in the series.
Gabe was a really fresh perspective to read from. Not a favourite love interest of mine in this series, but his profession as a firefighter and his background was great to read about; it brought along plenty of believable hurdles between his and Aleks' blossoming relationship, so none of their relationship problems felt contrived.
Still, this a pretty good entry in the Puckboys series, and I'm excited to read the next instalment once it's released :D
