Laura Greenwood has created a very interesting world at Grimalkin Academy and hopefully we have not seen the last of it. I love Daphne's character. Greenwood excels at creating females of strength, loyalty, and depth. She creates women that you want to be friends with and be BFFs for life with. Daphne is a “do or die” friend.
For me Greenwood concentrated more on Heath and Daphne's relationship more than any of the others. This might be because Heath is brand new, whereas Cade is Ryan's best friend and Bradley was her childhood friend. Daphne knew all about them. It is not until the final book that the crew actually really communicates about their relationship and what they want and what it would entail. This conversation is open, honest, and free-flowing. Greenwood writes an excellent dialogue and teaching moment for people thinking about poly relationships. Communication is key.
The Academy is a very mysterious place with so much intrigue and Greenwood has created so many possibilities it is fun to read and imagine. Where else does the Catacombs lead to? What other secrets does the vampire library hold? Greenwood grabs you and does not let go. Read below and you can see how much I am still hooked, but fair warning there are spoilers.
If you have not gotten lost yet in the Catacombs, you should - you never know who could be playing hanky panky in the dark.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
