From his apocalyptic origin in World War II England to the modern-day case of the sole survivor of a doomed Arctic expedition, Hellboy must battle vampire frog creatures and worse in his debut miniseries. Created by Mike Mignola, with a script by John Byrne and colors by Mark Chiarello. Hellboy is the World's Greatest Paranormal Investigator.

This wasn't bad, but it's clear it's just a starting point - not much characterization or even plot yet. It has a very distinctive artistic style which isn't bad, but it's not to my taste. Overall it was interesting to see the origin of the story, but I like the movie better.
Pretty late to the Hellboy party, but I really enjoyed this! Smart and not that gory (which for some reason I thought it would be?)
We have it shelved in adult GNs, which is maybe just because it has a swear word RIGHT IN THE TITLE but the content honestly seems pretty PG-13 to me?? Err I mean unless parents don't want their kids reading about demons, I suppose.
I'd read more Hellboy. And maybe watch the movies? Are the movies good?
Fantastic art and colors! The story didn't develop the Hellboy character very much, but I'm interested enough to read the rest of the books.
