Sixteen-year-old misfit Mikal Fanon joins a gang of neo-Nazi skinheads, is taken in by leader Richard, and finds himself committing horrible acts of violence without a second thought. But a black campus activist named Niani Shange, to whom Mikal finds himself hopelessly attracted, and Sherry Nicolas, Richard's new girlfriend, threaten to disrupt his new world.
