Mademoiselle Misfortune

Such an endearing tale with Alice in the starring role—a 14-year-old, eldest sister of the six girls in the Moreau family and younger sister to the prized only son and firstborn of the family. When Alice meets the aging American spinster Miss Hester Weatherwax and translates for her in an interesting moment near their French home, Miss Weatherwax takes a great fancy to her and asks for her to be a companion and translator while touring France.
