Loved this book. A must read and a must re-read. Review to come!

I forgot to write a review for this one and could not remember based off other reviews what this was about. I could not remember. I opted to re-read via audiobook and I kid you not, it took a total of 30 secs to remember absolutely everything about the book and what I loved so much about it. It all came rushing back and I was quite proud of my brain/memory. I finished reading the book once again and I was so happy I decided on the re-read.

This book came out during a time NA was making an appearance and I legit not digging the genre. With that said, I kept trying and I am so glad I came upon this one.

Angel and Arion (gamer names) met online while playing games. They spend hours online and develop a virtual relationship. Living on opposite sides of the country and life happening, they lose contact with one another. One day Angel shows up on Arion's door and so their journey together begins. Everything about this book was realistic and so perfectly accurate. I think this book has a special place in my heart because I can totally relate to the budding relationships made online after gaming or chatting for hours. Online chat rooms just became another way to connect with humans all over the world and that was so cool when it first started to be a thing. Nowadays... not so much. I digress. Anyone living at that time can relate to questioning how well you really know someone you have never met and how real that friendship/relationship could be. Equally, you could relate to those moments where you convince yourself that none of it is real except only to realize it absolutely is. It was exciting and insane at the same time. Yet, it is about trusting the process because you never know what you might miss out on. Within reason.

On the flip side, I think Angel's story was handled with a lot of responsibility and sensitivity. All that she was feeling and how she handled leaving her ex are very textbook in terms of abuse. The way Arion tried to manage the situation by being careful with her and allowing her to process certain things was utterly amazing. Not many folks know to do that. I just loved these two and, in the end, they had gone through so much and deserved every ounce of happiness the universe could grant them.

You know in the end that there is still work to do and that it will still be a process but at least they have each other and are dedicated to doing the work to stay together. Sheesh... I am so glad I read it again.

Netgalley provided original arc for an honest review. Re-read was purchased by me.
