Prisoners and Captives

In the author's note at the front, he says he is sorry the book is still in print, as it is an early effort he viewed as heavily flawed. I'm inclined to agree.

Overall, the characters are strong but the plot arc is imbalanced, going along in fits and starts and including things that don't make a lot of sense while skipping over things I wanted to know more about. Most of the scenes are depressing and I was glad to get to the end of the book.
