I read this all in one day in two sittings. Well to be honest, it's now 5:22am... so just over one day. :) If you liked [a: Francine Rivers 6492 Francine Rivers https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1358956670p2/6492.jpg]' [b: Redeeming Love 11422 Redeeming Love Francine Rivers https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1550053167l/11422.SX50.jpg 820210] or [a: Tracie Peterson 27788 Tracie Peterson https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1296327966p2/27788.jpg]'s [b: Yukon Quest 360014 Yukon Quest Pack (Yukon Quest #1-3) Tracie Peterson https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388425722l/360014.SY75.jpg 350179] then you are sure to love this little novel. Heartbreaking struggle from both ends of a marriage to make things work in the best of times and worst of times with a second chance is just fabulous. A great read!
4.5 stars.
This is a purely emotional rating! From page one, I was gripped by the story and never put it down until it was done.
Normally I don't like so much over-the-top drama, but for some reason these characters really drew me in, and I actually have no idea if there were any big flaws to the story.
It hung together well; the events seemed to flow logically from one to another. And that's pretty tricky to accomplish with jumping back and forth between the narratives of two separate characters. It's a little predictable in spots, but not in a bad way. (I certainly predicted the ending from when they got to the farm...that he would have to save her life and deliver the baby! And I loved every bit of how the foreshadowing of that played out!)
I got this for free on my Nook last night, and I'll probably end up buying a hard copy when I have the chance!

From the very first chapter, I was disappointed in this book. The amount of sexual tension and sexual innuendo was way too much for me, not even including the prostitution that was touched on in several scenes throughout the novel. I was further disappointed to see that child prostitution was featured without resolution.
The themes of forgiveness, love, hope, and perseverance were beautiful. Those were main reasons why I continued to read this book, though they could not in any way hide the previously mentioned things that bothered me.
I was not compensated for this honest review.
