Ride for Texas

Lee has surrendered in Virginia, but the war is still going on other fronts. Hating the thought of surrendering to the Yankees, Jo Shelby takes his Iron Brigade down into Mexico to fight for their fortunes in a new land. It's a conflict of Juaristas vs. French, in a conflict I knew next to nothing about and thus had no clue for the final developments.

Dobey and his best friend Clint are riders in Shelby's brigade. I really loved Dobey and his adventures as a youth among men and his plucky attitude.

Definitely a great read about a little-known bit of Confederate history.
