Science fiction novel set in the USA. Central theme is inter-species communication. A killer whale comes in from the wild to communicate an urgent message to humans. Elizabeth uses advanced technology to overcome the limits of language and communicate with the whale. In the process, her loyalties are challenged as she clashes with marina management and must fight to continue her work. Author is a university lecturer who is currently completing a PhD on evolutionary theory and science fiction. Previous title is 'Map of Power'.
