Mel and Dana check out their new cabin and Mel gets caught up in more than she bargained for.
Mel and Dana are back in Tennessee for a relaxing weekend and to start the renovations on their new cabin. While waiting for their mothers to arrive, Mel goes to the local bank to open up a checking account.
In the meantime, the mothers arrive and cart Dana off for decor shopping. Mel on the other hand is lying on the floor in the middle of a bank robbery. Chaos abounds as Dana, Faye, and Chloe decide to “help” the FBI find Mel before it is too late.
I think this is the shortest description I have written for a book that is not a short story (laugh). I do not want to give anything away and Anne Hagan makes it hard with her thrilling Tennessee Bound (Jug Run Press, B07WS1TW22, 2019), the 12th in “The Morelville Mysteries” series.
Do not let the number “12” scare you though as this is a stand-alone read. You do not need to know any backstory to read this mystery. Hagan gives us a fresh mystery that starts and ends in this book. (Hmmm...did I just accidentally give something away?)
It is an exciting read as you are just as lost as Dana trying to find Mel. Hagan keeps the surprises coming in the book and I have to say I like the maid scenes the best. (Let me know after you have read them (laugh)).
Hagan's mysteries get better with each book. Mel and Dana are taking an interesting direction and I am definitely enjoying their more active sex life. Hagan still keeps the second characters interesting and the realities of being queer and a cop a part of Mel's life. The mystery is the main focus of Tennessee Bound and this is a great way to try the series out.
I received an ARC of this book from Author Anne Hagan and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
