This was a predictable but enjoyable novel by Lynne Hinton writing as Lynne Branard. You've seen it before - heroine has magical baking, cooking, knitting etc. skills that help her friends and neighbors find love, but she is the only one who hasn't opened herself to the magic yet. In this case the heroine is a florist whose beautiful arrangements bring good luck and love to the recipients. I could have lived without the detailed descriptions of the flowers in each bouquet, but I have a brown thumb and others might find this aspect of the book more interesting. The heroine's co-workers and customers are nicely captured in their brief appearances, but there were a few other key secondary characters who were either completely idealized or too sketchy to be memorable. (Has the author ever met a real 10 year old boy?) There is more of a focus on maternal than romantic love, so those looking for a fully developed love story will likely be disappointed.
Recommended for readers who like small-town women's fiction with a life-affirming message.
