Robert A. Saxon was a cow-puncher when he realized he had an artist's eye. His friends gave him an opportunity, and he became an excellent artist, the careful emulator of the famous painter Marston. He's spent the time since in a rise to more and more recognition as an artist.
But before he was a cow-puncher, who was he? No one knows. He was near death and carrying no identification when cowboys found him in the Rockies and nursed him back to health. Now, when he falls in love with the strong-hearted Duska, he's spurred by a new clue to go see if he is free to marry her.
What follows is a wild adventure, with more twists than a roller-coaster. From the woods of Kentucky, to a revolution in South America, all the way to the streets of Paris, the story goes. Who is Saxon, really? Will we ever know?
