Continues the memoirs of Yorkshire veterinarian James Herriot, as life for Herriot, his wife, and two children gets back to normal after World War II.
Reviews with the most likes.
Charming insights into humanity but less purpose (the first book has all of James's struggles and the building of the relationship with Siegfried and Tristan and Helen) than the first book and less depth than the 2nd and 3rd (which at times deal with serious issues). Still pastoral and brilliant and delightful but not as much as the others
