The Midwife's Tale

What an absolutely delightful story!

The romance in this quiet story is almost nonexistent, and the heroine is in her forties...such a delightful difference from the average story. (Though it appears she will get a romance in the later books.) Her story feels so authentic, as she treats her neighbors during childbirth and other ailments and worries over neighborhood issues like the new doctor, the thieves in the area, and the wanted man who has been accused of stealing a valuable watch. In her personal life, she aches over the loss of her runaway daughter and hopes every day to hear something from her about her whereabouts.

A quiet country story from 1830 Pennsylvania that will be sure to warm your heart. Suitable for all ages.
