Kirk Anthony has often been asked by his father to settle down to do some real work. But Anthony, despite nearly worshipping his strong, successful father, just doesn't have it in him to quit having a good time with his father's money. He goes to fancy dinners, drives the latest cars, and treats his friends to lavish dinners.
Then a man trying to escape the law takes a hand. At a supper, he persuades one of Anthony's drunken friends to “play a capital trick” on him–unbeknownst to the friend, the trick lands poor Kirk on a ship with the wanted man's identity and no money. When he lands in Panama, he finds the ambassador without delay...but to his shock, his father, fed up with Kirk's irresponsibility, declines to pull him out of his latest scrape. From there all is up to Kirk himself! Can he make good? Or will an egotistical Spanish diplomat and a designing woman ruin him for good?
Plenty of laughs and a great, unpredictable adventure!
Word of caution: true to the time period, derogatory language is used toward other races, such as Kirk's favorite self-coined term of “Panamaniacs”.
