This seems a better book than its predecessor, [b:The Thief 30363359 The Thief (The Queen's Thief, #1) Megan Whalen Turner https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1475685365l/30363359.SY75.jpg 1069505]: it's more lively, more gripping, more is happening. On the other hand, what's happening is often unpleasant in some way. I can tolerate unpleasantness up to a point (some unpleasantness is almost inevitable in the course of a novel), and I can tolerate it here, but I don't tend to enjoy it.If you read this book, you will probably want to read the sequels, to find out what happens.I read the whole series and put my review of the series under the final volume, [b:Return of the Thief 40650301 Return of the Thief (The Queen's Thief, #6) Megan Whalen Turner https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1603971521l/40650301.SY75.jpg 16439607]; I won't review each volume separately.
