Although it is short, this has all the best elements of good mystery. Mrs. Meade is smart and shows excellent common sense, and I definitely will be glad to read more Mrs. Meade mysteries when they come out. There are plenty of twists in the story, right up to the very end. I liked the characters, especially the Sheriff!
I wouldn't have found this great story without being here on Goodreads, and I will definitely recommend it to others. It is well written, entertaining, and enjoyable.
This short e-book reminded me of TV shows such as Murder, She Wrote and Diagnosis: Murder, two of my favorite mystery shows. It was definitely a throwback style of writing, yet the mystery drew me in and kept me invested in the story. I would try more by this author, though I wish she would refrain from taking the Lord's name in vain; there was one profanity that I noticed.
I was not compensated for my honest review.
