The Straight Road

I very much enjoyed this story. Callie has a lot to contend with after her escape from an abusive husband. There were some things I didn't agree with (such as her attitude toward what discipline her son needed...basically that she thought he'd turn out all right if allowed to go his own way) which prevented its being a full five-star, but I liked it nevertheless. She has to choose over and over again to do the right thing, even as others around her pick paths that, at one point, make her wonder why it matters quite so much...but at the end, she is rewarded for her path along the straight and narrow. An excellent story about keeping one's morals even when those around you don't and when temptation for simple job is nearly too much.
