This was a mixed bag. The first third of the book was very good, bordering on excellent. I liked the pacing and the delayed revealing of plot points very much. I like the complexity of the characters and the description of the world they live in.
Then it slowly turned into a drag. There is a constant dynamic of friendship and making games, followed by an argument about silly thing, followed by years of being enemies. And then back to start.
The last part was tough to finish. At the start of the book the characters are relatable and kinda cool, the kind of people you would want to be friends with. At the end of the book, everything and everyone is toxic, the kind of people you would rather avoid.
