I was poking around on the Harlequin website looking for some short suspense. I landed on this one and opened the file without checking the author's backlist. A glance there would have shown me she didn't share my values in the romance world, but the suggestion came from under a Christian author's book and I just assumed. The first chapter is really interesting and made me really want to learn what happened next, but the rest of the book wasn't so interesting and focused more on attraction than crime. Add to that a truly awkward and weird takedown scene, and it just wasn't my thing. It's quite short and I wasn't ever convinced that they were a great couple together, either.
Not recommended. Values are liberal but described content is mostly clean (a few minor swears and a naked scene near the end, but nothing beyond that.)
