5 Stars!
My first 5 star read of the year! I loved every second of this, I read it in a day and it was everything that I didn't know that I wanted in a book. I haven't read many books set in the Omegaverse, but this made me want to dive right in to that world.
The book starts off with Chelsea, a pregnant Omega, finding out that her ex-boyfriend/baby daddy died. Clark, the ex was a good guy. He had found out that he had a brain tumor and he didn't want Chelsea to have to upend her life to take care of him, so he broke up with her. He left her a good chunk of money for their baby. She used that to move to a new location and start a better life for them both. She moves into a beautiful rental house right next door to 3 super hot & single Alphas. Arden, Lincoln & Kase. This is the part where you have to remember what type of world you're in & suspend your reality a bit. According to Google: Omegaverse, also known as A/B/O, is a subgenre of erotic fiction that features a hierarchy of dominant, neutral, and submissive humans. The terms are derived from a now-discredited wolf behavior study, and the genre is often associated with animalistic elements Alphas: Dominant, strong, and bigBetas: Normal peopleOmegas: Submissive, delicate, and fragileHeats: Omegas experience strong sexual urges, cramps, and confusion during their heat. They often rely on an Alpha for care during this time. Mating bites: Alphas and Omegas may bite each other during heat or rut to mark their bond. This can cause intense pleasure, but it can also be painful. Due to this sort of thing, insta-love is MUCH more common. These alphas became obsessed with her pretty much from the get-go and this entire book happened within a 2 week time span. One of my most favorite parts was that we had an on page birth. SOOOOOOO many books just gloss over the delivery and it makes me so mad. The author knew what she was doing though. This was a pregnancy trope book and it was one of the best I've ever read. You can also tell that either this author did her research or has been pregnant before because I found myself relating to many scenes. I can't wait to read more of her books!
Do I ever plan on having children? No.
Do I still absolutely eat up all Jillian West's pregnancy romances? Yes.
So much fluff with men who are quite unhinged and desperate for her. It was funny to see them trying to fight their instincts to just steal her away, but still learn everything about her and start reading baby books within 24 hours. What a vibe.
