How well you enjoy this novella will depend on how you feel about the (not surprising) reveal that the homeless man Barney rescues from being assaulted is actually rich, handsome and has the power to make all of Barney's dreams come true with a wave of his hand. It's feels like a fairy tale but also kind of a somewhat offensive misappropriation of a genuine social crisis (homelessness). I'm starting to think that at least one of Elsborg's MCs in each book bear some resemblance to the the titular MC in [b:The Making of Jonty Bloom 54342632 The Making of Jonty Bloom (Unfinished Business, #1) Barbara Elsborg https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1593558322l/54342632.SY75.jpg 84086893] - sweet, talkative, down on their luck but not out. If you're going to have a type, that's not a bad one to have.
