I thoroughly enjoyed this book on restorative yoga. The pictures of the poses were very nice, and the descriptions of each pose (as well as modifications) were very well done.

Being a typical cat lady, hoping for an advance copy of this book was a no-brainer for me. There was a lot of information provided, both on cat type and breed. Also, the wealth of pictures was very enjoyable.

I'm really having a difficult time writing this review. My thoughts are still all over the place after finishing this book.
The story drew me in from the start, which is always a good thing. Shortly after, the pure evil of two of the main characters quickly became evident. I hate to admit that I'm almost numb to hear about similar actions happening in our current time, but was very bothered thinking about this in America's early history.
Overall, the story seemed very well written. I'd like at a later time to research more about the true characters that this story was based on, and would like to try other books written by this author.

I found this to be a very enjoyable read. The photos and old ads were a very nice touch. There was more information on Prohibition than I'd assumed would be included, but that just added to the story's interest for me.

I REALLY wanted to enjoy this book more because I was interested in trying out some of the recipes for DIY makeup and skincare instead of depending on products that are loaded with chemicals and goodness knows what else that I can't pronounce. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything included that piqued my interest enough to try, despite the beautiful pictures throughout the book.
There was nothing wrong with the book that I could find, I'm just apparently the demographic that this book seems more geared to.

This book was a very enjoyable read. The cover is beautiful, as are the photos of the various dishes inside. It was interesting to learn about the variations of the food AND drink in regards to the different regions of Mexico and the United States. The only disappointment that I have is the lack of availability in my area of many of the ingredients called for in the recipes. :)

I loved the premise of the story, but had problems with just enjoying the story. Maybe it was the changing POVs throughout the story, or perhaps the over-obsessiveness of the main protagonist, or any number of minor things that just didn't add up for me. I just couldn't connect with any of the characters, no matter what was happening at any given time.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. My first concern was that each chapter followed one of four main characters...I usually don't like this because the changing POV tends to be abrupt. In this story however, the story still flowed well for me.
The beginning seemed to be a little slow, but to be honest, many books are. After the initial set up, the story really picked up for me. I also enjoyed that there was a fair amount of character development for everyone.
The conclusion was nicely done...to me it leaves just enough of an opening that there may be a potential follow-up in the future.

The story itself was pretty good, but I couldn't bring myself to like the main character. She was to me very spoiled and selfish. At around 80% of the book, I stopped caring what happened to the main character. I did really enjoy reading about her previous lifetimes...for some reason, these characters were more real to me.
I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
If you're looking for a “typical” book on mythology, this one is definitely not it. I love that it is about the strength of the female, and not needing someone to rescue her. I really enjoyed the fact that the majority of the characters in this book were ones that I'd never heard of, and that so many cultures were included. The musical playlist at the end was the icing on the cake.
I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I found this to be quite an enjoyable read, especially since I would probably be the target audience for this type of book. There was a lot of information regarding the history of essential oils which I don't usually see. The information regarding the properties of the oils was well presented and easy to follow. I believe that this book would be a nice addition to a reference collection.
I don't usually read military / war books, but I love John Wayne's movie “In Harm's Way,” so I decided to give it a try. I can honestly say that the next time I watch it, it will be with a slightly different view. To me, many of the characters were much more enjoyable than in the movie...on the other side of the coin, others were much more disturbing. Overall, this was a very enjoyable book.
