Huge thanks to Michael Phillip Cash, IBPA and NetGalley for this copy in exchange for an honest review.
Another book I couldn't put down once I started it!
Werewolves, Vampires and Zombies, all a girl needs when she can't sleep, the light of the kindle all the illumination needed.
I wish it would've been longer, more behind the scenes of the ‘park', more human interaction with the ‘attractions' especially the zombies, I would say more but spoilers.
The thing I had my suspicions about turned out to be exactly as I thought, nice little twist if you don't see if coming. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Huge thanks to Robert Bryndza, Bookouture and NetGalley for this copy in exchange for an honest review.
What a bloody good book this is!! Set in London and showing how the class system is still messing things up, in this case, the rape and murder of 5 women but because one of the murdered women was in the public eye, she's the only one who ‘mattered'. At the start.
Murder, violence, craziness and twisty turnyness (that's not a word but I love it!) throughout, once I picked it up I couldn't put it down so read in one sitting.
Highly recommended!

Huge thanks to Kathryn Croft, Bookouture and NetGalley for this copy in exchange for an honest review.
What a cracker of a book! If my kindle hadn't have decided to mess with me and ruin the ending for me I don't know whether I would've guessed the twists in this, my kindle does like to screw with me every now and again!
I can never imagine the pain and heartbreak a family goes through when their child is abducted, the not knowing whether they're alive or dead, if they will ever see them again etc. Having an 18 year old girl say that she's the missing daughter throws Simone's life into turmoil as she tries to figure out the truth.
There are a few very unlikeable people in this, violence and rape. I thought Kathryn handled it well and, although sometimes it seemed overly long, the overall mystery was very good.

Holy moly! What a fracking good read that was!! I can't believe I've not read any other books by Edward Lorn, that will definitely change now I've read this.
Every single time I felt a tiny, tiny little glimmer of sympathy for Ella something else was mentioned to make me despise her even more. Her inaction to Phil's ‘discipline' and her inability to see how she was as much to blame, if not more, as her husband for Dane's eventual life choices.
It's very difficult to make a reader feel sorry for a serial killer but although I found myself disgusted in his behaviour and the things he's done, I had this overwhelming urge to protect him and give him hugs, to stop all the bad stuff that happened to him when his mother (I use that term very loosely!) stood by and did nothing.
I could say so much more but spoilers!
To cover my bases (I think I'm doing this right)
i received a free copy of this in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Edward Lorn, Red Adept Publishing and Net Galley for this book

Again I didn't realise this was the 3rd in a series, why don't libraries tell you that when you pick books!?.
C.J. Townsend is supposed to be the main character in this book as that's who the series is about but she's not. It follows Manny and Daria, a detective and an ADA, catching and prosecuting (trying to at least) the murderer of a woman found in a dumpster.
With brutal rape and torture of women throughout and other nefarious antics and people it was a gripping read. C.J. Does show up in the book and has to face some things from her past, mainly the man she sent down for murder and try to become herself again.
The reason this isn't 5 stars is because some things were left unanswered but seeing as though it's series in hoping the next book will answer most of those, if not all.

For starters I'm never living in any house or apartment that is numbered 16, im not going to become a night porter and if I'm ever left an apartment in Knightsbridge I'll be going there only in the day and won't stick around for long.
It's creepy from the start and slowly builds to weird and slightly more creepy before culminating in really bloody weird and creepy as fuck!
Apryl's perspective is the mystery part of this book, she's uncovering her great-aunt Lillian's past and figuring out how she died, the creepy factor ratchets up when Apryl finds Lillian's journals and then crazy starts.
Seth's perspective is him going batshit crazy and wondering why, as I'm sure most of us would be doing.
The descriptions in this book are wonderful, from the apartments to the violence, gore and horror, just wonderful.
I believe this is my 4th Adam Nevill book and I am finding I enjoy them more and more but wtf is it with the hooves man!?

I did enjoy this, I wasn't really too interested in Lennon's back story but I'm not sure why I wasn't as it added depth to his character even though he's a little bit of a prick at times.
The main story was fun, with some violence and blood and mystery involving family and murders.
I will be picking up more by this author in the future and see how those books grab me.

I suffer with depression, anxiety and a sleep disorder, I'm not sure if that's everything but I'm determined to find out. My disorders aren't as debilitating as Jenny's but I understand how she feels and her humour is the same as mine, my brain works the same and I go off on random and weird tangents without realising it sometimes.
This was a brilliant book for me, it shows me I'm not alone and I shouldn't be ashamed of something that I can't always control, there's a community out there who help each other and give advice to help you get through the day without feeling like you're alone.
I thank them all for not being afraid to speak about who they are and how they cope with whatever disorders they have.

Well that was exciting. Gotta love a good come novel filled with blood at Christmas time!
I really enjoyed this, I needed to get my last book from my currently reading shelf read by the end of this year and thought it was gonna be a struggle to finish it but I couldn't put it down! Should've gone to bed a couple of hours ago but that went right out the window.
The reason i haven't given this a 5 star rating was because I needed more information at the end, more of the backstory, more loose ends tied up. I like things tied up if it's a stand alone so I'd like either another book that explores the backstory or even a novella.

Was a little confusing at the start with the different people and it took me a couple of chapters to get them straight in my head but I quite enjoyed it.
It's the first cozy I've read that involves scrapbooking and I liked the little different back stories that worked with the main storyline, plus the different communities around the area.
If my library has anymore of these I shall definitely be picking them up.

What a big bloody chunk of a book that was!
If I wasn't afraid of Birmingham before I believe I am a little bit now. Adam Nevill does write bloody good books, bloody being the operative word there!
Psychotic ‘landlords', blood, violence, sex, creepy happenings, acid and insanity, oh and a haunted house. What more could a girl ask for!?
It could've lost a few chapters and still been this good and the tension could've be ratcheted up by losing said chapters but all in all, I really enjoyed it, wrapped up nicely too. Or so we think.

Well that was a weird bloody book! 4 mates off for a camping holiday in Sweden find something dead hung in the trees and then find an abandoned cabin with more weirdness and a huge goat type thing upstairs. You know things are gonna get weirder and more bloody from that moment on!
And get weirder it bloody well does! Not gonna say anything else because spoilers but it does get really strange in the last 3rd of the book. Most of the stuff gets tied up but a couple of things don't and j wish they had.
Very good book though, would've been 5 stars if it'd been wrapped up a little better and I didn't have to skim read most of the last 10 or so chapters.

I expected more from this, more ‘what' I don't know, just more.
Not that it wasn't good, it was, spooky and violent like any good haunted house book should be but it didn't scare me, I wanted it too, I really really did but it felt lacking. Maybe that's still because I don't seem to scare easily anymore no matter how hard I'm trying to find something that will.

I add my books on when I decide on what I'm going to read and then start them when the fancy takes me, I started reading this early this morning when I couldn't sleep and was having one of my bad days, one of those days where I need to be taken somewhere else and see through someone else's eyes.
This one took me to Birmingham and to death, torture, psychosis and depravity. Lovely light subjects for Boxing Day!!
I haven't read any other books in this series, the premise seemed interesting for this one and I really enjoyed it, despite the subject matter. There are some horrific characters and some personal opinions that I don't agree with so my hate for them only grew as I continued the story, some were redeemed at the end but most weren't and for very good reason too!
There was something lacking for me though which is why I can't give it a 5 star rating, can't put my finger on why at the moment but if it comes to me, I'll be sure to let y'all know.

The first 2/3s of this were a very, very slow build to the fast paced and twisty/turny ending, a few surprises here and there, blood, torture and psychosis (I sense a theme in my reading!),
The ending mad up for how slow the build was, once it reached its apex it sped up to a good, if somewhat untied, ending.

The first 2 3rds of this was such a chore to get through. Quite slow and rehashing of the same information that became really tedious, had to skim read until it started picking up in the last 3rd. It did pick up well and I'd already guessed the majority of the twists but it was a fun section.
Could've lost 5-8 chapters and still conveyed the story and kept the momentum going rather than slowing it down.
Maybe it reads better in its intended language, I'll blame the translation.

This is my favourite so far. I see bits of myself in Zoe and I think that's what's keeping me reading them.
There's twists and turns that maybe you see and maybe you don't but it's not annoying in a, I can see what was going to happen and I decided not to finish it because I knew it was going to go that way.
It's not Zoe doing all the wrap up, which is nice and I'm going to continue reading the rest of the series, the ones I've got anyway.
