This was an interesting read but not quite what I expected. When I first read what The Great Work was about my curiousity was peaked. I love a dark read with an equally dark atmosphere. This seemed like it would provide both.
While definitely on the darker side of things, the overall story was a little flat for me. At times this was slow which made it hard for me to want to keep reading. At other times I was pulled into the story and didn't want to stop.
I have a like/dislike relationship with this one. If you have this on your radar, give it a read and see how you feel after.
I sincerely appreciate Quirk Books for the review copy.

I love reading Gothic horror and was excited to read The Graceview Patient. I was slightly disappointed with this overall. This is more of a psychological horror and at times was excruciatingly slow.
I did enjoy the atmosphere and the darkness mixed into story. I was hoping for a lot more and thought this was heading somewhere it never went. You would have to read to understand what I mean.
This is a good one for the Spooktober season and I would recommend for those that want an eerie read without gore or overly scary moments.
I sincerely appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy.

I haven’t read a book this fast in a while.
A Stage Set for Villains pulled me out of a mild reading slump and reminded me why I love darker fantasy mixed with mythology. The writing flows beautifully, the characters are compelling, and the theatre element adds such a unique twist to the story.
Another 'just one more chapter' read that turned into oops, I finished it.
Huge thanks to Entangled & Mayhem Books for the review copy — this is easily one of my favorite reads of the year so far.

I really enjoy this author's writing. When asked to read Seeing Things I couldn't say no.
I did read this pretty quickly. I am just a little late with my review. The writing is easy to follow, the story interesting and engaging, and the characters equally loveable and annoying LOL. You have to read to understand.
When the mystery was revealed I was torn between loving it and feeling like it was a little too much for what Maggie was put through.
Overall, I enjoyed the story as a whole and I appreciate the author for the opportunity to read and review this one.

This was a fun read. I love cozy mysteries and read them as palate cleanses between my other reads. Who doesn't enjoy a small town setting, a bookstore, murder and amateur sleuthing. Perfect one for cozy mystery fans.

The Midnight Knock is an interesting read. I love the format and the characters. Locked room mysteries are one of my favorite to read and this was not only unique, but captivating. I read this one fast. There is another element of the story that I really enjoyed as well but no spoilers soooo...go grab this and give it a read.

This is a beautiful, haunting read. The writing drew me in and kept me engaged the entire time. I love the world this author built and the fantastical creatures and stories threaded throughout the book. Definitely a good one for fantasy fans.

This was a fun, B-Rated horror read. Very quick and mildly terrifying. I love the middle of nowhere setting and the idea of this being like an advent calendar. I didn't read it that way but the idea is fun.
Overall, a fun read. Not very scary but still interesting enough to keep me entertained.

I love me some books that have a bookish storyline. The Library Game is such a fun read. I especially love the fact that the main character and her dad build secret staircases and other fun book-related items.
Definitely a must-read for fans of cozy mysteries and books-within-a-book.

Oh man was this a FUN read. I was laughing a lot and enjoyed everything about this. I have the next books ready to go because I need to see where this is going.

This started off really well but didn't finish as strong as I'd hoped it would. I understand where this was going but as it went on I lost interest. The main character getting away with things for as long as he did seems a tad far-fetched and man oh man was it hard to keep reading about his selfishness.

This author's writing just isn't for me. I didn't enjoy the first book but figured I would give the second one a try. I cannot pinpoint exactly why this doesn't work for me. I found myself bored more than entertained. I'm glad so many others have enjoyed this series so far. If you have this on your TBR, give it a read and see how you like it.

This was an interesting read but not what I was expecting. From the synopsis, I thought it would be scarier. Don't get me wrong, this definitely has the spooky vibes and some parts gave me the creeps. I just wanted more.
I would recommend this one for those readers who love a good spooky vibe, but don't want extra scary or gory. This is a perfect read for Spooktober.

This was not what I expected. I read this, keeping in mind the time it was written, but was still disappointed. From what I have heard about this book, I was looking forward to more than just slamming doors and cranky girl fights.
Overall, it isn't a bad read, and for me, did not live up to the hype I have seen about it.

No Safe House is a good follow-up to No Time for Goodbye. This is a tense one filled with complicated relationships. Must read the first book to understand why. Overall, not bad. I read this one pretty quickly too. Good one for fans of family drama and suspense.
