I came into this book barely having read the back of it. I would probably not have picked it up by myself, but I loved it. Already, I can see myself reaching for this book again to re-read. It had some surprise OCD rep, spice that felt real and a writer that you can tell loves the craft. "I don't want to squeeze myself into the nooks and crannies of someone else's life."
Did not expect this book to be a journal, but I loved it. I really liked reading about someone passionate about their field of study. Dryadology is super fascinating and I just want to learn even more about it. The characters felt relatable and real. “You are not so terrible, Em. You merely need friends who are dragons like you.”“I suppose that when one spends their career working towards a goal, constructing all sorts of fantasies about what that goal will look and feel like, one is left a little senseless when the scaffolding comes crashing down around them.”
Huh. The anxiety and frustration I felt while reading this. Not because it was bad, i really liked the art and writing. But I felt for our main man, the not being heard and essentially ignored by the people he meets. Could not put it down once I started. I don't fully understand what actually happened, but I guess that's part of it.
"Hamn
