Fun airplane read! Also I'll like anything that heavily features Three Is The Magic Number from Schoolhouse Rock.

It's fucking weird but I love it. Existential detective story a la I Heart Huckabees.

The stories were too surface to be satisfyingly fleshed out. I appreciate the collage effect, but wanted more like Yaa Gyasi's Homegoing.

——- Three stars initially, but after we met for book club about this, I would bump it up to 4.

Interesting writing and heart felt memoir of being mixed race and losing the parent that connects you to the other culture.

Incredibly odd reading experience. I was super annoyed with all the characters the whole time, but still wanted to keep on reading.

Hopeful and painfully honest /- and loved the notes about Indians, and meditation

I really liked this even though (or because of) it prompted some serious debate in the Group Chat.

Love the Socrates, Rilke, everything shit. Loved it. Want to memorize and reread all of the time.

Didn't really care for it

Thought it was boring at first, but really enjoyed it after discussing with the ladies.

Simple but fun and meaningful

Pretty good, but ultimately maybe a little too straightforward / simple.

Loved this exploration of personal history and narrative. Deeply moving and emotional.

Meaningful and at times satisfyingly haunting and literary. But hard to read, not exactly pleasurable.

Crucial text. The missing part to the last decade of wondering ā€œwhat planet are they living onā€?

Found it strange and hard to get through. Appreciated much more after digging in and reading more commentary.

Engrossing for sure. Read this one nearly all in one go. Themes of marriage, how well we know other people, how well we know ourselves... ego, art, what does it mean to romantically love someone... good stuff. Particularly like the way Matildhe's personality were drawn out.

Very insightful book about the need for more Jewish literacy, accessibility, and education post- childhood Hebrew school. Want to read again.

Found myself losing interest throughout. Would not recommend.

This was a very thoughtful examination of the issues of this conflict and an honest attempt to open a dialogue about understanding the legitimate narritives of both sides.

The messy middle of any new venture or creative project is painfully and excruciatingly real. This book helps make the reader feel not so alone in a painful process. Really enjoyed reading. Definitely a re-reading candidate.
