A bit hard to keep up with characters and wizardry names but great book!! David N.

Anthony Award for Best First Novel (2020), Agatha Award for Best First Mystery Novel (2019)!
Good mystery, good characters and not too many characters, Just the way I like my mysteries!
David N.

Read book and watched movie right after! Book was great, movie was so so!

I've always had great luck with Reece's Recommendations but I've run out of Luck!

Constant auguring between Grandmother and her daughter! Very hard to figure out what the plot was.
Too many times Grandmother was so sure of the killer but later had to change her mind.
Author had bad habit of using a person's 1st name only in one part of the book and then would use the person's last name only in other parts of the book. Should have been more consistent!
Characters were just average with no stand outs!

Book won many awards in 2024 and was the main reason I wanted to read it but so far this is July and this has been the worse book Ive read this year!

Read book and watched movie at same time! Both were great! David N.

Anthony Award Nominee for Best Paperback Novel (2024), Edgar Award Nominee for Best Paperback Original (2024) - One of the best books I've read this year, exciting ending. David N.

Read the book, then watched the movie, both were good!

Goodreads Choice Award for Romance (2022), Swoon Award for Contemporary Romance (2022)!
A great read! A bit long (7 days to read), Great characters, Happy times/Sad times, Best Ending!
David N.

Book had a lot of “Reads”, just could not get into it!

My Rating = 4.30
After reading the book I also watched the movie! Both were much better Then I thought they would be!

My Rating = 4.5, Not 5.0!

Pros = Goodreads Choice Award Nominee for Fiction (2019)
Avg Rating close to 4.0
Main character works in book store (I use to work as a P/T libarian)
Funny dialog including with her cat, Good Characters

Cons = Main character just a bit “Snippy” with new man when he was trying to help (Could have
toned it down)

Very slow, dull read! Confusing at the end! This did win a Libby award! I never have luck with SF books! David N.

Another Reece's book of the month read! Always enjoy her book club recommendations!
This is about a year in the life of a middle class Mexican American family living in L.A.
Good characters thru out. You can't help rooting for this family! David N.

Reese's Book of the Month! This was a good book! Everyone seems to be a con artist and you don't know who to believe. Surprise around the 75% completion of book (Love surprises). Good characters and just 270 pages long! David N.
PS - I'm having good luck with Reese's Books of the Month Award!

Don ‘t read a lot of horror but this book won some awards and thought I'd try! My rating = 3.40.
The whole subject matter was just too much for me to “Digest”, Ha Ha. (Cannibalism)
May I suggest you don't try reading some pages while having a hamburger at Burger King.
The subject matter is carried to the limit in this book! David N.

Rating = 3.5, Not enough dialog, very slow at times & could have been shorten by 50 pages!
Lots of awards, Reece's Book of Month & good mystery w some surprises!

If you readers think this is a Cozy Mystery then you may want to be careful, the “F” work is mention thru out the book, just a head ups for some of you folks - It didn't bother me at all. With that being said then this book can be read as a Cozy!
Good mystery, a bit long at 410 pages, good characters and lots of awards! I enjoyed it! David N.

Lots of awards - ( British Book Award for Crime and Thriller and for Audiobook: Fiction (2024), Audie Award Nominee for Audio Drama and Thriller/Suspense (2024), Goodreads Choice Award Nominee for Mystery/Thriller (2023), Book of the Month Book of the Year Award Nominee (2023)

Enjoyed this!

First 2 books were great but this book is too much of the same! Series may be running out of steam!

This is a good one! London female police officer tries to solve a case with an “AI” Android Hologram!

This is a good horror/mystery Novella, 155 pages taking place in England in the early 1900's!

Lots of surprises in this one!

Ebook was an English translation from Japan to English. The person doing the translating does not know where verbs, pronouns etc are to placed in a sentence. Also commas, periods and quote marks were out of place!
The book was good leading up to an ending that stunk!!!

1st Book in a new cozy mystery series and I enjoyed it. Agatha Award for Debut Novel (2024)

Agatha award nominee for best debut novel 2024!
A bit slow in beginning due to 1st book in a series & character building & introductions. Really got into this about the 35% part of book. Main character Glory is fun and has no problems in stating her mind!
Good backup characters and a good mystery to boot (Not always found in Cozy Mysteries).
Book 2 of the series will be out in the last half of 2024 and want to read! David N.
